Terms of website usage

This page tells you the terms of use on which you may view live feeds from Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras hosted on our website www.interneteyes.co.uk and www.interneteyes.co (our websites) and report incidents.

You must read these terms of use carefully before you start to use our website. By clicking to accept these terms you agree to abide by them.

Information about us

www.interneteyes.co.uk and www.interneteyes.co are websites operated by Internet Eyes Limited .  We are registered in England and Wales under company number: 06161806 and have our registered office at: 50 The Terrace, Torquay, TQ1 1DD.

We have notified details of how we control personal data to the Information Commissioner?s Office (ICO) under the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). Under the DPA, you will become a ?data processor? and are required to abide by the rules and restrictions set out in these terms and applicable requirements under that Law.

Information about the Internet Eyes Service

Under the Internet Eyes Service, we receive live feeds from CCTV cameras from shop-owners or other customers and package these with similar live feeds from other customers on a randomised and anonymous basis. The combined images are then made available, over the Internet, to you and to other registered users (Viewers) who have agreed to these terms of use. No details of the location of the premises and no details of our customers or their premises are provided to Viewers. Equally, our business customers will not be given any personal details of Viewers.

Viewers will see four camera feeds, each with an Alert function which can be ?clicked on? if any suspicious activity is monitored. Each camera feed is refreshed automatically in line with our randomising algorithm unless overridden manually by the Viewer. Clicking on the Alert function has the effect of freezing and enlarging the image concerned, allowing you to confirm whether or not this shows activity that justifies an alert.

If a Viewer sends an Alert, our system will automatically send an SMS message to the business customer and an email of the image, direct to their control panel and Smartphone. Normally this should occur within seconds. Our business customer then has the opportunity of viewing the feed from that camera, evaluating the risk and, if he or she is still in the premises, speaking to the person whose behaviour prompted the Viewer to send the alert.

Our business customers have agreed to rate each notification within 24 hours and this will be emailed to relevant Viewer and stored within their member?s area.

Ratings are:

Positive - where the business customer considers that a Viewer has alerted him to an act he believes may be theft or represent other unlawful or anti-social behaviour 10 points

Neutral ? where the business customer considers that a Viewer has acted in good faith and was justified in alerting him to the incident, even if no theft or other unlawful or anti-social behaviour occurred 1 point

Incorrectly - where the business customer considers that a Viewer had no reason for alerting him, or acted maliciously, -2 points

We issue rewards to Viewers who receive the most number of points per month, and we reserve the right to de-register Viewers who receive multiple negative feedback. Further detail of current rewards is set out below; the reward scheme is subject to change.

Alerts Bank

On successful registration and payment, we shall issue you with five Alerts per month to your account. The number of Alerts are limited within each month to prevent system abuse. On sending an Alert your Alert balance will be debited by 1. This will be show with a pending status in your dashboard until the site owner has verified its validity. If the alert is verified positive or neutral the alert is credited back to your balance. If the site owner deems the alert as negative, your balance will not be credited.
