Terms and Conditions

This page tells you the terms of use on which you may view live feeds from Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras hosted on our website www.interneteyes.co.uk and report incidents. You must read these terms of use carefully before you start to use our website. By clicking to accept these terms you agree to abide by them.

Information about us

www.interneteyes.co.uk is a website operated by Internet Eyes Limited.  We are registered in England and Wales under company number: 6161806 and have our registered office at: 50 The Terrace, Torquay, TQ1 1DD.

The Internet Eyes Service

Under the Internet Eyes Service, we receive live feeds from CCTV cameras from shop-owners or other customers and package these, on a randomised and anonymous basis, with similar live feeds from other customers.  The combined images are then made available, by means of the Internet, to you and to other registered Viewers who have agreed to these terms of use.  No details of the location of the premises and no details of our customers or their premises are provided to Viewers. Equally, our customers will not be given any personal details of Viewers.

You and other Viewers will see four screens on a web page, each with a button below which can be “clicked on” if you notice any suspicious activity. Images change every five minutes.   Clicking has the effect of freezing and enlarging the image concerned, allowing you to review the image and reconfirm whether or not this shows activity that justifies an alert.

If you send an alert, our system will automatically send an email to the relevant customer with an image of the scene.  Normally this should occur within five seconds.  Our customer then has the opportunity of viewing that image and the feed from the camera concerned, evaluating the risk and, if he or she is still in the premises, speaking to the person whose behaviour prompted you to send the alert.

Our customers have agreed to rate each notification by uploading a response by means of the Service.  Ratings are:

  • positive – where the customer considers that a Viewer has alerted him to an act he believes may be theft or represent other unlawful or anti-social behaviour, 3 points
  • neutral – where the customer considers that a Viewer has acted in good faith and was justified in alerting him to the incident, even if no theft or represent other unlawful or anti-social behaviour occurred, 1 point
  • you alerted incorrectly - where the customer considers that a Viewer had no reason for alerting him, or acted maliciously, 0 points

Points are allocated to the Viewers league table.

We reserve the right to de-register Viewers who receive multiple incorrect feedbacks.  Further detail of current rewards is set out in below, but the reward scheme is subject to change.

Alerts

On successful registration, we shall issue you with five Alerts per month. An additional Alert will automatically be credited to you Viewers account on positive feedback from the camera owner.

Rewards

We will pay to the Viewer who receives the most award points (as confirmed by the Viewers league table) each month a reward of £1000. This sum will be issued in the form of a cheque in the full name of the registered Viewer. In case of a tie, the reward shall be divided between the relevant Viewers. We may revise the reward scheme at any time by updating this page. You are expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we make, as they are binding on you.
